We live in a time of an increasingly unstable climate and growing concern over energy security. Because transportation, electricity, and fuel costs are closely linked to energy policy, climate change will be one of the most important environmental issues facing businesses, communities, government institutions, and campuses in the 21st century. Clean Air-Cool Planet aims to help these entities become part of a more conscientious culture, where saving energy and reducing air pollution is mainstream and commonplace. Solutions to global warming are both necessary, financially practical, and feasible.
Our Partner Program allows the business, campus, and community sectors to work with us to actively reach those solutions, celebrate their success, and share our accomplishments with far-reaching audiences in government, education, and corporate arenas.
Current program areas include:
- Northeast Science Center Collaborative - This includes the exciting projects and programs organized by the New England and Connecticut Science Center collaboratives: the Cool It! Challenge; Climate Change Backpack; Meet the Scientists professional development forums; Greening Our Science Center program; and a Speakers Bureau.
- Business Partnership Program, which works with small and corporate businesses to help them develop and implement emissions reductions. For more information about including your business in our partner program, contact Bob Sheppard: 603.422.6464.
- Higher Education Climate Initiative, which engages colleges and universities to take direct action on climate change by reducing greenhouse gas emissions from campus operations, raising awareness, and jumpstarting action within campus communities. Contact Jennifer Schroeder for general questions or inquiries about our Campus Carbon Calculator; contact Lauren Miller with questions regarding our Massachusetts Clean Powered Campuses project.
- Community Program, which helps rally Northeast cities and towns around a plan for climate change mitigation, energy efficiency, and alternative transportation. If you would like Clean Air-Cool Planet to visit your community group, local library, place of worship, or town meeting to educate you and your neighbors about climate change, please contact Christa Koehler.
