New Law To Help Businesses, Residents
with Energy Efficiency and Conservation

Maine LighthouseThe legislation, which takes effect immediately, establishes the new, independent "Efficiency Maine Trust" to administer programs for energy efficiency and alternative energy resources. The United States Global Change Research Program releases 2009 report on US impacts

usp coverThe Global Change Research Act (GCRA) of 1990 mandates that every four years an assessment of the impacts of global change in the U.S. be conducted by the U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP). The 2009 report, released June 16th, summarizes the science and the impacts of climate change on the United States, now and in the future. Agricultural fires linked to Arctic warming

A new report by the Clean Air Task Force detailing the role of agricultural burning in generating black carbon pollution in the Arctic has been released.  The report is the first compilation of research on the origins and means of deposition in the region, according to Ellen Baum, senior scientist of the Clean Air Task Force, Clean Air-Cool Planet’s partner in work to reduce the short-lived forcers black carbon, methane, and ozone. The New Hampshire Carbon Challenge
Becomes Joint Project of CA-CP and UNH

NHCCThe New Hampshire Carbon Challenge, a program enabling homeowners to identify and reduce their energy use and greenhouse gas emissions, has become a joint initiative of The University of New Hampshire and Clean Air-Cool Planet. Adam Markham, CEO of Clean Air-Cool Planet, said the program “brings individuals into the climate action arena, which is vital if we are to succeed in reducing the threat of global warming.” Read the press release.
