June 8 and 9 Roosevelt Hotel, New York City

Clean Air - Cool Planet’s Global Warming Solutions 2005 brought more than 275 business, investment, government and opinion leaders to New York City to exchange the latest information on the struggle to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming.

Featuring keynote addresses by three CEOs and the chair of the international Arctic Climate Impact Assessment, Cool Planet’s event also heard plenary discussion of investment and regulatory opportunities by the environmental heads of five states and six other company presidents, and a special, animated dinner presentation on the “greenest skyscraper in America,” the Bank of America Tower, by architect Robert Fox.

“We had hoped to offer people a higher level engagement on the issue and, based on the feedback we’ve received so far, that definitely happened,” said CA-CP Executive Director Adam Markham. “I think particularly the strength of the plenary sessions made this conference quite powerful.”

Clean Air - Cool Planet also presented the 2005 Climate Champion Awards at a reception Wednesday evening. Recipients of this year’s awards are Governors John Baldacci of Maine and George Pataki of New York, Bank of America and The Timberland Company, Middlebury College, and the City of Stamford, CT.
